Burrow Into My Cover

You burrow into my cover like a worm
To reveal the inside
My identity
Who said I share?
In it, do you want to be submerged?

Past And Present

Like English spoken in England
And Nigeria or Jamaica
Side by side I stand
With my past and present
Different like the different lands
From which their people come

A Blue Bird

A blue bird
In a green grass
A jump jump
Into the blue fence
On the green grass

I Need You Green

I need you, green
Your yellow
To have green
With my deep blue
To have green:
Not deep like my blue
But light like your yellow.

The Rose I and You

The rains from heaven lashing down
The winds blowing gently around
The noisy sea remained calm
When you held a rose
Given you in your hands
And never threw away
Despite its thorny edges and ends
Its thorny edges you broke
In order to embrace

This rose I am
The rose you are
My rose you have
My rose your rose
Your rose I am

Pure I will be
When on me you fall
Tough I will become
When tossed by your winds
Yet in the calm seas I will be
Swimming with you.

Eating Away The Red Earth

Through the infinite distance
I looked and watched
Through light less than a firefly
My view to see
Swallowed by thoughts of her
Of her words not well said
Her hug not showing up before depart
Sky gray and light dim
Tunnels lose their shadows
Dusty winds intrude the eyes
In the minds mind I still see her in skirt
Eating away the red earth.
