THE MOON, THE SUN, THE ROCK

Add caption

Only a rock in the ocean I am
The weathering waves around me wash
My nights are lonely my nights are noisy
I yearn to see her, her attention in the skies
I prepare a flower my moon to surprise

Tonight is the night, a married night
And all Is set to see my moon
The sun shone whole my flowers pale
I wondered what more befitting
My moon to surprise

The night is come
In her regalia the moon
In her silvery colour
Three stars her shinning waist held
My night will be long, the tempest the storm

     A night, a special night
A lonely night, though my moon was up
A flower died twice in my hand
A life
A lonely life of a rock in the ocean

More than a thousand words

Disagree disbelieve
May be right, may be wrong
When earth’s final painting
Of you, of her, of us, of them
Finally painted.
When the hands can feel no longer
Nor none their images repaint,
When the lips, its echoes, share no longer;
Your images will be worth more
Because a thousand words can reach no more.

My monday

I wait for another Monday
Again her guiding smile approaching my way
Widely opened for all to see,
Only me her all to receive.
I wait but when, Monday?
Will you fill my thoughts on Sunday?
Why can’t I wait to see you, Monday?
Longed for, charmed and different
You alone make me feel
My Monday.

If only heads could talk

If only heads could talk
Moaning and groaning you’ll hear
And how she prefers his hands
Her hairs through to pass
If only the winds be still
The gorgeous walk of her branches you’ll see
Where the bats fly over to the market
Their gossips underneath those broad boughs reveal
If only heads could talk.

I am content

I look at them
I am content
The way he made us
A little lower but his image
I am content.
His abode to dwell
A friend to share his plan
A tower, fortress, shield and sword
And in the scorching sun
Content I am

The way he has made me.

We will get there

We will get there:
A smile it can be
A path in the mind
It can’t fathom
Nor there the eyes see,
Only others around you
When them, it influences positively.

Burrow Into My Cover

You burrow into my cover like a worm
To reveal the inside
My identity
Who said I share?
In it, do you want to be submerged?

Past And Present

Like English spoken in England
And Nigeria or Jamaica
Side by side I stand
With my past and present
Different like the different lands
From which their people come

A Blue Bird

A blue bird
In a green grass
A jump jump
Into the blue fence
On the green grass

I Need You Green

I need you, green
Your yellow
To have green
With my deep blue
To have green:
Not deep like my blue
But light like your yellow.

The Rose I and You

The rains from heaven lashing down
The winds blowing gently around
The noisy sea remained calm
When you held a rose
Given you in your hands
And never threw away
Despite its thorny edges and ends
Its thorny edges you broke
In order to embrace

This rose I am
The rose you are
My rose you have
My rose your rose
Your rose I am

Pure I will be
When on me you fall
Tough I will become
When tossed by your winds
Yet in the calm seas I will be
Swimming with you.
