Everyone has a gift
Sometimes born
Other times acquired
My gift oh my gift
Like a double edged sword
Cuts from all sides
Friends and foes alike
My gift oh my gift
Like the pen of the writer
Man’s mind to represent
When light exposes the dark
My gift oh my gift
The first time it caused laughter
The second pain and grief
All from one, who made all
My gift, oh my gift
If it were gold, why am I poor?
If for my good, where gone my friends?
If my joy would always hag my pain…
My gift oh my gift
When I was neared, their envy
Made me now deserted, their hate
All because of my inheritance
My gift oh my gift
Oh my gift I cannot destroy
Oh how long can I contain
An inborn gift I cannot control
Until my earthly part destroyed
